I'm posting for Barbara in NJ. Barbara is sadly having to leave our group swap and asked me to make this posting for her. She received Stormy Nights yesterday.
The following are her gracious words to me in an email:
Jan, your little quilt with my favorite purples, black and white is beyond special, I'm in love with it! The thing that is so special to me is that it is obviously one of a kind with no pattern or standard blocks. How in the world did you design it? Its charming and true art! Not to mention your perfectly executed hand quilting and so much of it! I wish my aging hands could still do that. Jan, it is delightful and so very special.
I thank Barbara for the kind words and so glad she likes Stormy Nights. I also included a little mini-mini quilt--for a tiny spot she might have around the house. Barbara was a wonderful swap partner and so happy for all our communications, it was fun---Happy Quilting! Jan
Well, we are nearing the end of April so it is time to consider whether you would like to take part in the May Swap here at Doll Quilters Monthly.
Please note that note all the quilts shown in my monthly postings are doll quilts. . . . .some of them are larger quilts. . . . but I think having "eye candy" is always a good thing in a blog post!
As an incentive to encourage more participation, there is no need to commit to a long term agreement. . .you can swap month by month. After all, we all know that life has a way of putting glitches in our way when we least expect them.
If you have been on the fence, consider just swapping for a month.
If you are a new swapper to our group please understand that references or swap experience may be required before participating. . . . .we all take great pride in our work and want to make sure that we are swapping with others that take swapping obligations as seriously as we do.
Received a wonderful April Quilt Swap from Barbara in NJ. This little gem measures 14 x 22 inches and is accented with vintage buttons. I see this as a great table topper for a summer luncheon. In fact, I have black & white place mats & napkins that will accent it perfectly. My Pinochle group is in for a big surprise next month with this little table topper for a luncheon centerpiece. Barbara also included a vintage handkerchief, pajama prayers pattern and a cute Fiber Artist Trading Card. Barbara thank you so much for a beautiful little quilt and the fun surprises you tucked inside. Jan
Received this wonderful little traditional quilt from Jenn.
Mini Snail Trail
I love the colors and Jenn's workmanship is just beautiful. I strive to do this level of work--I have a long way to go. Also, love the deck of cards. I have been to Seattle, but for only a short time, so this little extra gift is a perfect remembrance for a beautiful city. Thank you for the terrific quilt. Jan
Hi Barbara---It's almost finished. The April swap quilt will be in the mail next week. I'm calling this quilt Stormy Nights. I have worked on it each of our many stormy nights here in Missouri. When you see the whole quilt I hope you can see the lightening, hail, wind and rain that made our evenings a little scary. Things were flying every which way with the winds 50 to 70 miles an hour. The little quilt is every which way too, hint, hint. Wishing everyone a great weekend and no storms. Jan
